Philips introduces their new range of LED daylight running lamps (DRL). The latest innovation is the Philips LED Daylight 4, a smaller DRL kit suitable for compact cars.
Daylight running is now mandatory in the EU
From 2011, all new vehicles manufactured for the EU market will be obligated to be fitted with a daytime running light. However, most will not have LEDs, instead they will use a lower cost halogen lamp. With this entry level kit you can add the style and performance of LEDs to your vehicle, whether you have daylight running lights on your vehicle or not.
This is an excellent introduction to aftermarket daylight running technology, with the assurance of Philips original equipment quality. It will increase driver and other road users' safety whilst adding a styling edge to the vehicle, all at a great price.
Is the product legal to use?
Philips Daylight 4 is fully road legal in the EU and compliant with ECE R37.
Will it fit my vehicle?
This product is designed to fit the majority of vehicles due to its compact profile. The best way to check is to measure the front of your vehicle grille to see if there is sufficient space to fit each LED unit. Each unit has the following dimensions:
125mm wide
24mm high
31mm deep
In order to ensure road legality there needs to be a minimum of 600mm between the two LED units and each unit needs to be no more than 400mm from the left/right of the front of the vehicle.
How easy is the kit to fit?
It usually takes less than two hours to fit the kit to the vehicle for a person with a general knowledge of vehicle mechanics and electrics. A quality auto electrician will be able to easily accomplish this task and full installation instructions are provided.
